I’m thrilled to share a stunning New York City wedding photos that I had the privilege of capturing. John and Aaliyah waned to feel different than what you usually find in NYC: a timeless, candid and editorial feel that reflected their personalities and love story. John and Aaliyah’s story is full of spontaneity and adventure. Aaliyah, who is from California, met John in a night club on the West Coast. In a playful unforgettable moment, she stepped on his shoes and they had a little bit of banter. She then handed him her full name and number to make sure he had all of her details and ran off, which set the tone for their love story where, on an hour long hike, John proposed during a trip to Costa Rica in 2024.

Next, we headed to Brooklyn Bridge Park, a spot that Aaliyah and John spent a lot of time together during their relationship. To add a little bit of extra fun to their wedding photos, we took the subwab, where we took a couple of wedding photos on the NYC subway. These candid moments showcased their personality in a different setting, adding a candid twist to their editorial and documentary wedding photos. This energy continued at Brooklyn Bridge Park where we captured natural and unposed moments – the essence of documentary wedding photography. The lighting of the city skyline provided a beautiful backdrop to their wedding photos.
